LINKS TO EXTERIOR WORK

bulletPublished books!
bulletI now do most of my classic and modern videogame and computer related writing for Armchair Arcade, Inc., or simply Armchair Arcade.  Contributors are always welcome for this unique online publication!

bulletMy AtariAge Combat Redux Design Contest Entries (I'm proud of the tank level designs, not the plane cloud designs) from 2004...
bulletVisit www.old-computers.com, and while there, check out my entries on the (2003) Atari 5200 SuperSystem: http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=901&st=2 and the (2003) Atari 7800 ProSystem: http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=898&st=2.  An article in the first issue of Armchair Arcade also contains a lot of the information in those two features.  I still occasionally contribute to these guys, like for the Action Max entry...
bullet(2003) My AtariAge Climber 5 Atari 2600 Label Contest Entry... (Eek! It came out bad...)
bullet(mid-1990's) I contributed a very small amount to the infamous ColecoVision FAQ, at least enough to get a credit on all versions...
bulletGoogle link to a historical archive of my forum posts from the mid-1990's (pre-Internet) to roughly October 2003.  You can modify the search to make it more videogame or computer specific.
bulletI'm also mentioned here as a small part of the excellent Computer Collector Newsletter...

MISCELLANEOUS
Note: This will only include a few key miscellaneous items, particularly in regards to mentions in other publications, since I get used as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for videogame and computer content quite often.

bullet(2006) I was mentioned in this Escapist article and also had one of the interviews and articles I conducted for Armchair Arcade mentioned in there as well
bullet(2006) I was used as one of the subject matter experts in a piece from the Indianapolis Business Journal entitled Gamer cashes in on hobby - Arcade cabinets combine old titles, new technology (April 2006)
bullet(2005) I was used as one of the subject matter experts on this "Living" piece from the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper entitled Appreciating the Classic Arcade Games (December 29, 2005)
bullet(2004) My 2004 entry for the The 1st Annual 1 to 2K Classic Text Adventure Competition, zipped.  It's a .bas file, fully QBasic PC compatible (and likely compatible with other BASIC versions).  It was very challenging for obvious reasons (no entry over 2,816 bytes!), but lots of fun.  I can't program well yet - which is clear from the entry - but I had fun whipping up the story and trying to cram as many features as possible into such a tiny space (which required losing features, but I was still able to retain the important ones).  Anyway, when submitted, it got a 9 out of 10 and was called "The best 2K competition game thus far!" and "Very sharp!".
bullet(2003) Right click and do a "Save As" for the 2003 Microsoft Word version of Game Programming with BlitzBasic for the Absolute Beginner: Tutorial #1, which was a collaborative work with Stede Troisi, and is now placed on indefinite hold (I did heavy layout and editing work on it).
bullet(2002) I won some neat stuff in a RetroGaming Radio contest.  From the site (Old News: 10/21/2002 - 10/28/2002) and the link:
"We have a winner in our "NAME OUR SEGMENT" contest. The winner is Bill Loguidice, and his prize is a pair of AUTOGRAPHED Dragon's Lair 3D action figures - signed by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman, compliments of Don Bluth Films and RetroGaming Radio."
bullet(1989/1991) Just for fun, here is original art I did converted straight from my Commodore Amiga 500 and Deluxe Paint III days, circa 1989 and 1991, respectively: Peanuts and Bugs Bunny, both drawn pixel-by-pixel using a mouse.  Here is some more on Armchair Arcade from the Commodore 64 from the 1980s.
